End Of Euphoria

By K.Y Robinson

it got a hold on me
and i danced for hours.
every beat reverberated
through my body
and became my new blood.

i didn’t want it to leave.
it made me feel like i held
the universe in the pools
of my irises and
in the bends of my body.

then the dark side
of the moon came.
i burned myself out like a star
and crashed into melancholy.

the marmalade of mania
was no longer sticky and sweet.
my mind turned against me.
