Ink

By Natasha Dowdy

With pen in hand scattered words from pain within
Appear before me when the tears flow again
After the healed scar is cut and the rush begins
From years of fear and hidden sins
Emptying onto these lines a foul odor of rotten hate
Released from my soul through a temporary appendage of fate
Pages inked unending when all is said too little too late
