Menstruation : A Blessing Or A Curse

By Shakuntala Nayak

Every month she turns into a paranoid mess,

Constantly asking the nearest girl

muflar pradip rodan ad
to check the back of her dress.

She feels shy to ask a shopkeeper loudly for sanitary pads,

And thinks to wear a white dress during the period is bad.

Restricted to go to school because of her cramps and jittery pain,

If she gets touched with others then they complain.

Restricted to enter in pure areas like temple and kitchen,

No one understands her pain which is hidden.

Some spread thoughts of fogy,

When she speaks against it, blamed to be rogue.

Is there really like a demarcation?

Or is our society bandaid by superstition?

Oh, dear woman what is there to be shy,

About getting a bandaid for your blood.

Oh, dear man what is there to be shy,

About knowing what happens to your budd.

When you disrespect women think once

how you came to this world

She fights every month with demons

called MENSTRUATION…….!!!
