Paranoia

By Mayank Mohan Pande

At times I sink into a quagmire of doubt,
Full of suspicion, tinges of fear and feelings inside that want to make me shout.
WHY should I be belittled and not allowed to grow?
When God has given me of my subjects the know.

Falling thus into anger and despair,
Seeking loving ones for my soul’s repair,
I end up up ringing my wife Jaishri (yesterday was her 44th birthday),
that the world may do me harm.
“RELAX”, she assures me as usual,”
It is PARANOIA: you have taken your medicines,
think of God,
there is no cause for alarm!”
