To Miss A Ghost

By Anonymous

To miss a ghost is to accept their loss,
To trace steps on floors they’d walked across.
To understand that it was time to go
And long to see their outline in shadow.

To miss is a ghost is to remember their face
And to long to occupy the same time and space;
To not quite accept that what’s done is done,
And that you cannot weave something unspun.

To miss a ghost is to love, and have loved, with love so deep
That you even wish to see them in your sleep.
