Us And Them As Usual - Miss South Carolina Putting America On The Map Poem
By Jonathan Robin
Universal truth spins like a top
Such as ‘I rack’ ‘I ran’ from pole to hole,
Alas what pole, what whole, God bless my soul,
Unknown remains spite thirty second stop.
South CarolinAfrica’s ocean’s tiny drop
Around a burning bush – bright future’s goal –
Uncharted wildfire embers in this bowl
Some name as Terra Firma – [l]earning’s crop
As such in global warming can’t talk shop
Unless it be free laughs outside control.
Shine brave new world view whirled, who needs to know
A map to feel a_ddress at sea? Top flop!
US And ‘them’ seem upside down as seen
AS Usual in this dumb blond T.V. scene.
Just as Miss Carolina (South)
you have it from the horse’s mouth,
America’s the place to be –
if only one could find it, see
map’s beauty bordering on pride
from taking people for a ride.
So out and tell it the Marines
as guaranteed by Beauty Queens.
