Food Poem

By Bella Dail

Bright, puckering, opens
My palette with the delicate
Floral notes of orange

Thick, peeling rind,
Dissipating into cold
Stringy flesh of pale
Orange criss-crossed
With white veins

Exciting, delighting,
The prospects of a fresh,
Juice dripping orange

Zests my soul
