Sitting At A Table In The Midst Of Other Tables
By Emmanuel George Cefai
Sitting at a table in the midst of other tables
of glass thin and transparent with
skeletons
as guests and patrons sitting too at tables
like me
like me
they sat
in the Residence of the Cemetery
And
contrary to human cafes and bars and pubs
they
the skeletons
just sat at the tables
staring
staring
staring
And
they were not friends and they were not enemies
And
they did not socialise and no word
said they
but stared,
stared, just stared in silence
Sitting at a table in the midst of other tables
of glass thin and transparent with
skeletons
as guests and patrons sitting too at tables
like me
like me
they sat
in the Residence of the Cemetery
