Take The Leap

By Laura Hughes

Changes can often be scary,
in this thing that we call life.
But all our doubts we must bury,
to rise above all of the strife.

This ride can be filled with beauty,
and also with a lot of pain.
But it’s our personal duty,
to shine after all of the rain.

We all too often focus,
on what we can possibly gain.
Like the beauty of the crocus,
blooming love should become the main.

Life isn’t always what we think.
It doesn’t mean it isn’t right.
We can be gone within a blink,
so be light that always shines bright.

Life is what you can make of it,
so don’t bury yourself too deep.
Trust your heart just a little bit,
and then you can take the leap.
