Wilderness In Wisconsin Poem

By Krystal

Trees droop down to the river, close to the river’s edge
As you look closley you can see the rocks form a ledge
Look at the water see how it flows
Curving with the land and all that grows
As leaves and growth shape the land
More and more people come to experience the nature at hand
Waterfalls, creeks, river, and more
Look at the nature thats what it’s here for
As seasons come they shape the land and then they go
Between those season the forest should grow
Seasons will pass and this place will stay
because we will protect it in our own special way
These special places sing with wildlife and flowers and some are very rare
That’s why they love to live here
Wild places are also a place of studt and sanctuary
Some scientist use this for their labitories
Mysteries abound here
And thousands of animals live there
These are rare and old places
Trees live and then they die and enrich the soil
For the communtiies of mossses, fungi, insects, and more
They are all part of the natural boundaries
The Dell and O’ Clare river on a cold winter day full of motion and beauty
Water and time work the landscape and with that it’s doing it’s duty
We were so close to loosing this place
But we held on and now we have a ton of space
In special places they are often fragile so step lightly
for in that you might alter the enviorments ever so slightly
Som as somebody once wrote in wilderness perservation in the world
