A Hundred Moons Weep

By Sea Opal

a hundred moons weep
jupiter quivers in deep sleep
does he dream
of callisto
or leda’s icy streams

On golden island shores
ocean waves thunder and roar
misty seafoam spreads diamonds
down frozen beach
dolphins and mermaids leap
I stand on my rock and hear
blue sapphire sounds rhea’s sea

Neptune rises, triton in hand
nautilus, conch, abalone shells
seaweed interwoven in hair
selkies drift aqua-green waves
piscean voices calling over sea
from isle of irridescent trees

My sailboat glides into coves
I chase down moons
fly under a million stars
float indigo waters

listen to voices calling me
above jupiter’s sapphire sea
