Aladdin's Lamp

By Aftab Alam

All are searching Aladdin’s magical Lamp,
Worried, restless, sweating within camp,
Ah! With no loss, only dreams of gain,
Oh! Dreams that only give them pain,
Movements of hand that rubs the lamp,
Wingless dream, dying yonder at swamp,
Suddenly heard – A bad News
Lamp’s Jinn has been killed by misuse
For his refusal to obey the Master,
‘I am not a killing machine, that I made for,
I can’t kill the innocents, must know-I abhor’
Aladdin is crying silently, I am no more,
Sitting into the dark silence room of cemetery,
Away from the cruel- bloody world of treachery…
