Authenticity Declare

By Robert Rivers

Have you ever seen a clown
Who is sad and has a frown?
That makeup done shows no cracks
But within so suffers from attacks.

We are so often showing false
Guarded by the hardest walls.
Our thoughts we keep to ourself
We put them up on a shelf.

How we feel we don’t show
We pretend to go with the flow.
So often, it is true that we hide
How we really feel inside.

For it is true I do assure
That what we really are unsure.
Be instead that which is true
Be who you are has its’ virtue.

There is no reason to abide
No reason for feelings to hide
For we would rather know
The real person for you to show.
