Bahrain, My Dear Country Poem

By Locura Alaam

Bahrain, my dear country
You ask how I love thee?
Would you ask on any day
For a verbal answer, I would say
With my heart and every part
of my mind that flows with art
It is a fact I cannot find
Words sufficiently kind
To express the Joy, Honour, and Pride
That within my soul shyly hide
Like a young, innocent, virgin maid
Engaged, and her cheeks thus fade
Within her blush, as her eyes lay
-Gently-, their site, -in a tender way-
On her beloved, and so she knows
That neither a rose empty of flaws
Nor the most poetic of phrases
Portray the way my heart embraces
And deep inside, your name, places
As the most special, of special places
