Distance

By Kevon Worrell

Ain’t no distance but we’re distance
If you were all in you’d make it a priority in an instance
I’ve seen you but it’s like you’re losing your substance
Your smile from now on is not enough
Never acted tuff I’ve had it rough
Seen the ones claiming they’d ride
Left me on the roadside

The rain hides my pain for this love is in vain
All these years nothing to show or gain
I’m being played like the guitar
Every stroke of the string is a stain
No name to these wings I’m broken like an airplane

Why so uncertain of your feelings
Vivid memories when looking up at the ceiling
Trying to convince myself these bruises are healing
Must be a dream about the world that’s feigning

What’s there to hide before I go she seeks
The possibility is endless like the water in a creek
But it’s too late I know I’m in too deep
Use to once gasp for breath now I’m asleep
Hence today is the last day you’ll catch me this neat
