Gorilla By Lee Robert Poole
In the darken depths of equatorial Africa,
A lowland and upland gentle giant resides,
Goliaths of Africa’s family, gorillas hide,
People not appearing as their closest friends,
An appearance of a stocky build a broad chest and shoulders,
With human –like hands and a hairless face,
Their black hair stands out in the lush forestation,
Playing an important role in their environment,
An endangered species they live as a family group,
A silverback maintains the masculinity of the family,
Dominating the bond, it shares with all his females,
An enjoyment to watch their youngsters play,
Communicating with body and facial expressions or by vocalizations of the voice,
Accompanied by chest beating or crouching with a submissive posture,
They can become aggressive when disturbed,
Doing strut stances or throwing vegetation, kicking or hitting,
Part of a gorilla’s social life,
Smiling or yawning,
They play face a gorilla’s laughter!
A gorilla’s grace.
