Harvey Hits Houston Poem
By Ima Ryma
Harvey hurled Houston into hell.
The hurricane with rain did storm.
Over four feet of water fell
In just two days – hardly the norm.
And Houston was not built to be
Ready for such water to flow.
Millions of people felt Harvey.
No time, no place for all to go.
A Harvey, once upon a time,
Came only once five hundred years,
But now because of warming clime –
A Harvey repeat, Houston fears.
And so now what will Houston do
When soon returns a Harvey two?
