Late Night Stomach Ache Poem

By Michael P. McParland

Sitting back my dear on this late night
with my stomach still aching a little bit.
I still have a few dishes to do
because I stopped halfway through
to sit down and hope some medicine would help.
The best medicine though that there
could ever be to help the rest of this stomach ache
and all the nervous stress I feel to go away
would be to have you here in my arms
to spend time with relaxing in pure joy.
To rest a bit with The Simpsons,
YouTube videos, and audiobooks
until I had to make my morning calls,
and then do the last of my work
before running out to pick up my meds
and get us a both a nice meal.

Oh my dear how this late night stomach ache
though quite better is still the worst.
It just sits below my longing aching heart
all of which would be cured by the company
of my beloved and beautiful girl.
I love you so much and want to always
be the reason behind your smile
as I give you all I have and every bit
of everything I can within this world
and then the next life as we walk hand in hand.
I love you sweet girl how could I not
love a divine Angel such as you in every way?
You are my hero and my best friend
and I wish I could lay back here
on the couch with you relaxing
as my stomach and nerves are on the mend.
I truly love and adore you dear more than anything.
