Life Is A Marathon

By Walterrean Salley

Life is a marathon—
And that is a fact—
With hurdles, relays
And balancing acts.

Whether track and field
Or Uneven Bars—
It makes no difference
Where you are.

Wherever you go
Whatever you do,
Strive to make life
Work for you.

We must remember,
Ladies and gents,
Life is a marathon—
Not a sprint.

Defeat is painful,
But victory is sweet
With a chance for gold
To land at your feet.
