Repentance

My heart aches for what I have done,
My guilt weighs on me like a ton.
I wish I could take back my wrongs,
But that’s something I just can’t do now.

So I walk in a path of repentance,
Filled with sorrow and contrition.
I try to find a way to atone
For my sins and my wrongs.

Though I may never make it right,
I must still strive with all my might.
To put an end to my guilt and shame,
I must journey down the path of repentance.

Though I may never be forgiven,
I must still try to be living.
To put an end to my grief and pain,
I must find a way to repent.

Though the road may be hard and long,
I will keep going, and stay strong.
To put an end to my sin and strife,
I must take the road of repentance in my life.
