Afghanistan Will Rise Again Poem

By Sebghatullah Arife

In our country People die hungry Even with the hunger, we still are hopeful Not hopeful to have a luxurious vitality But hopeful not to sleep hungry another day An aged woman Sit on the roadside and begging Begging to rescue her little child from dying This is heavy snowfall in the city And the temperature is less than zero degree Seeing a small Beauty Queen walking barefoot Because she doesn’t have warm clothes and boots It scarcely is a doomsday Because everybody is drowned in his own sweats Education and knowledge are the items disadvantageous. Since all they want is a loaf of bread. We youth go to schools But strikes make them old schools Despite all these evils Some are full of hopes and ambitions. We believe we’ll survive So that we gat to thrive. Because we know, after any dark night, The sun is rising again Afghanistan will rise again.
