Bold In The Cold

By Earnest Musings

I am barefoot in the sky
Air entering through my lungs — I can’t deny
Put all of me at ease
Please me in the breeze

If you could be a moth to my fiery passion,
Then please do with so much compassion
If you could be a fly on the tall, thick wall,
Then please be one and lead me to hope’s hall

I am barefoot in the sky
Wind blowing in my hair — I can’t deny
Put all of me at ease
Please me and don’t be a tease

If you could be my maroon moon tonight,
You’d make me fly like a hippogriff at flight
If you could be a caterpillar in its cocoon,
Hopefully I’ll see you soon in another blue moon

Wrap your wings around me in the sky
Fire blows in all directions — I can’t deny
Put all of me at ease
Please me, even if it’s a thousand degrees

Ice has made me frozen in time once more,
So do me a favor and melt me to my inner core
I am barefoot and I’m left in the cold,
Snowed under by the feelings of I-will-remain-strong-and-bold
