Layton, Utah - Vietnam Memorial Poem

By Darwin Henry Beuning

I come here often,
In the quiet of the morn,
From my Kaysville home.

To sit on a black medal bench,
Eight benches in all.
Four to the left, four to the right,
Of our flags, Flying High!

Each bench dedicated
To one of the eight nurses
Who lost their lives in Nam.

The Memorial Site,
Peaceful and quiet,
With me there,
Alone, with the WALL,
Inscribed with the names
Of those who perished in Nam.

May they rest in Peace.
