Smoke & Drink (Pt.1)

By Emi Aya

A popular tandem, I can’t lie,
I’ve tasted them both, just to try.
Went on and found Jesus,
Now I’m limiting the pair,
But I found myself hanging out
With a bunch of people who
Hold on to it like a prayer.
I can’t relate but I understand why,
It maybe be a necessary evil some times.
Yes evil, I call it, when has it ever been good?
It lies to your body telling it it’s brain food.
Mainstream marketing has made it big,
The most camouflaged groupthink in society
Who dares question the gig?
They’re not always going to be smoking or drinking,
That’s just what I’d like to say,
A little wishful thinking at the end of the day.
