Clear Boundaries

By Cynthia Buhain-baello

Some people are just too insensitive,
And some are born manipulators.
Enmeshed with malice and abusive-
In life, they are the toxic stressors.

These are the people who violate
My personal space with sheer cunning,
Their actions show they’re degenerate
Dimmed by the thoughts they’re thinking.

In the past they have maligned my name,
And twisted the truth to their favor.
But now I will not play their silly game,
No more friendship, I have closed the door.

Boundaries are set for my protection.
Discretion will keep me from their trap.
To them I will deny all association,
One word I value most now is “Enough”.
