The Nothingness

By Kelsey Tlhosane

You will weep tonight,
Drench yourself in tears,
Submerge your cheeks in salty waters
Until your eyes are blood red
Until your heart remembers its accent of sound, the flow, the tempo, the lilt, the pattern.
You can’t even snivel anymore, you just locate your breath between your lament. The weeping will be your way of coughing out, where there’s no one and nothing, Where there is you and tears.
