This Land Sonnet

By Lauren Norris

The soft pink clouds caress the sunset sky,
Shards of light shoot through the gap in the cloud,
Shadowy birds, across the clouds they fly,
Escaping water is silently loud.
Water departs from the trail to sea,
Making rivers paddling on the ground,
Acting like a lock without a key
Mountains of soft green grass are all around.
Silhouetted like a jigsaw puzzle,
All pieces fit together perfectly,
However mighty the cliffs, they crumble,
Unique scenery goes on endlessly.
Humanity destroys beautiful land,
So, it will be this land that destroys man.
